Due to low response and high cost, the East Valley TEA Party has canceled the Leadership Summit with the Dallas TEA Party which was to be held on May 1st. We appreciate those of you who signed up. We hope to hold this summit in the future but we will need a firm commitment from 200 participants before planning the event again, otherwise we will not break even. If we double the cost, we will only need a commitment from 100 participants. For those of you that signed up, you will receive a full refund.

This week, the president actually said the nation is “waiting for [Washington] to act” on the health care issue. This is arrogance and political posturing at its worst. Like us, the president knows the truth. Every reputable public opinion poll for months has clear majorities of the American people saying “NO” to the health care “reform” coming out of Washington, D.C.
Now is the time to finish the job of protecting this most personal freedom by stopping the Democrats’ Washington takeover of our health care in the U.S. House of Representatives.
On March 16 at 12 noon your time, we’re asking you to drive to your nearest congressional district office and drive around honking your horn. Our goal is to have Americans across the nation telling the politicians to keep their hands off our health care through this “Honk Against the Health Care Takeover” effort. Remember, it’s also important to visit your representatives office when you’re done honking to also tell them how you feel in person.

Forget reconciliation. The real battle is in the House. And the House could vote as soon as March 18 to let Washington bureaucrats take over the American health care system.
As AFP policy director Phil Kerpen explains, “The House vote is all that matters. If the Senate bill passes the House, Obama will sign it and it will be the law of the land.
Maybe the Senate will make some tweaks to it via reconciliation. Maybe they won’t. Ultimately it won’t matter, because either way vast new taxes will be imposed to support over 100 new regulatory entities that will give Washington the power to micromanage every aspect of our health care. Either way we’ll all be forced, under threat of incarceration, to buy expensive health insurance from favored private insurance companies, whether we want it or not. In other words, if the House passes the Christmas Eve Senate bill [the corrupt Harry Reid bill], the game is up and the American people lose.”
It is up to US. We must stop the House vote NOW. Ann Kirkpatrick, Gabrielle Giffords, and Harry Mitchell are being tempted to vote for the corrupt Senate bill. Nancy Pelosi wants to count them as Yes votes for the government takeover. We must put pressure on them NOW.
